Compassionate Inquiry Online Support Group
August 13, 2021 - With the Pandemic lock down restrictions, I decided to offer a Compassionate Inquiry support group online. We've been gathering for almost a year and a half now and it's been wonderful.
We gathered every Tuesday night from 9-10:30 p.m. EST. Now we're moving to gather bi-weekly so our next gatherings will be August 24th, Sept. 7th and 21st, etc. When the weather cools and people are less active I will review and likely move our group back to being every week again. Participants have been able to get in touch with how they're feeling and release those emotions in our safe and supportive space which I create in ceremony with an opening and closing with the Indigenous hand drum. Some have even been able to get in touch with their inner child/inner children.
Compassionate Inquiry was taught to me by world-renowned trauma expert, Dr. Gabor Maté. It really aligned with my intuitive spiritual counselling work so I integrated the two.
Compassionate Inquiry is an effective tool at helping you to get in touch with your authentic self and your feelings (physical/emotional), aspects of yourself and/or blockages you may not even be aware of and at times, even your inner child.
It can help you to release whatever you are feeling (physical/emotional), carrying and/or holding.
It is said that all pain arises from a disconnection from the self.
In the simplest terms, all you need do in order to experience Compassionate Inquiry, is to become more present and mindful. Surrendering your logical mind and allowing yourself to become more aware of what you're feeling (emotional/physical), and trust and allow yourself to be guided in our group.
I've heard some artists and creatives share they are feeling really blocked during this pandemic and so getting in touch with your authentic self through the Compassionate Inquiry approach can help remove these blockages and get the energy and creative juices flowing again.

Our group is private.
You will be feeling the emotions and/or physical feelings within yourself so no one need know what you are feeling and/or experiencing. Sharing at the end of our group is completely optional. You can even chat with me privately.
We will start with a guided mediation in nature and then I will help you to create and call in a support network.
This support provides stabilization before the Compassionate Inquiry and exploring your feelings.
Studies show that having support before going into the feelings (especially around trauma, pain and grief) can help to prevent destabilization and/or re-traumatization.
You don't need a Zoom account to join and you don't have to download the app if you have a computer, as you can join via your browser.
In light of the financial restraints many are experiencing due to pandemic restrictions, these events are PWYC (pay what you can) with a suggested donation of $20 or free for those that need it.
It has been a great and freeing experience to offer my services outside of the colonial system of money!
It has been lovely to witness how some that couldn't afford to make a donation would attend for a long time and then when their financial situation changed, they'd make a donation as it became possible for them, which I really appreciate.
